Locate the nest before taking action.
Wasps repeatedly using the same gap? Chris can assess the activity and recommend an appropriate approach for the nest and its location.

Wasp biology and nesting behaviour.
Biology and life cycle
Common and German wasps form social colonies. A queen starts a new nest in spring and workers expand it through the warmer months. Workers catch insects to feed the young and also seek sugary foods.
Where they live and how they behave
Nests can develop in roof spaces, wall cavities, sheds or sheltered outdoor locations. Wasps may defend a disturbed nest, so the risk depends on its position and how people use the surrounding area. An old nest is normally not reused the following year. Not sure whether they are bees or wasps? Send a photograph taken from a safe distance. Bees are important pollinators; a honey bee swarm may be suitable for collection by a beekeeper.
How Chris can help
Chris identifies the insects and assesses access before recommending treatment. He explains the precautions, what to expect afterwards and whether physical nest removal is needed or practical.
Prevention and preparation
Keep food and drink covered outdoors and close waste-bin lids. Stay clear of an active nest and avoid blocking its entrance or trying to knock it down.
