Understand the problem before treatment.
Fleas in carpets, furnishings or a rental property? Chris can assess the evidence and explain a coordinated treatment and aftercare plan.
Flea biology and behaviour.
Biology and life cycle
Fleas are small, wingless insects that feed on blood as adults and use powerful hind legs to jump. Their life cycle includes eggs, larvae, pupae and adults, so managing visible fleas alone may miss immature stages.
Where they live and how they behave
Pet resting places, carpets, upholstered furniture and floor gaps can hold immature stages. Adult fleas can emerge from cocoons when a suitable host is nearby, including after a property has been empty.
How Chris can help
Chris checks the premises and discusses preparation, treatment and aftercare. If pets are involved, their treatment should be coordinated with veterinary advice. Newly emerging fleas may need time to contact the treatment, so follow the specific instructions given.
Prevention and preparation
Vacuum and wash suitable pet bedding before treatment as advised. Ask your vet about appropriate flea control for each animal; products intended for a room must never be applied to pets.
